The journal "Izvestiya of Timiryazev Agricultural Academy" is the first agrarian scientific publication in Russia, established under the aegis of the oldest and leading agricultural university of the country – Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Over the last 150 years (since the foundation in 1865) the name of the University and the title of the journal have repeatedly changed: from 1878 to 1920 – "Izvestiya of Petrovskaya Agricultural and Forestry Academy" and "Izvestiya of Petrovskaya Agricultural Academy", and since then to the present day –  "Izvestiya of Timiryazev Agricultural Academy" ("Izvestiya of TAA").
